Roger was my brother-in-law for 70 years, but I always thought of him as my big brother. He was a gentle man with a fabulous sense of the ridiculous. Rog was a wonderful dancer who used to go with Betty and their friends to Centennial to dance. Rog loved his daughters, his grandchildren, and baseball. He was a faithful member of St.Paul's Oregon & always sang out with gusto. Love that man.
My dad was always the grounding force in my life. His even temper and calm demeanor was my saving grace. He was my best friend, in so many ways.
His love for his family was unconditional. Grandpa was there for all of us, at any time and in any way. His generosity was unparalleled, but he never expected anything in return. He was a true Christian.
What a sweet and beautiful man, inside and out. As his grandson's mother-in-law I only got to see Rodger a handful of times, but he was always such a treat to be with. He had a thousand watt smile and eyes that twinkled and laughed, even as his voice became silenced. I'm so happy to have known him, and dearly love his grandson Joe. Rodger was a true gentle-man and dear gentle soul.
