This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Roberto Gomez, 78, born on February 11th, 1938 and passed away on December 12th, 2016. We will love and remember him forever. Our Dad, Brother, Uncle, Papa, Friend and Husband to our Mom will be greatly missed by all of us and everyone that he touched. He defined the word "unique" in every way. They "broke the mold" after he was created some would say. He was the hardest working man that any of us have ever known. We learned far more from the example that he set than the words that he spoke. He was as old-school as it gets yet had a heart of gold. He was the king of the one-liners. There are enough of those to remember to last a lifetime. He proudly served in the National Guard from 1956 to 1965. He loved the American flag and everything that it stood for. He supported our troops with countless donations and gave coats and food to homeless veterans for many years. He also loved giving out candy chocolates to all of his favorite nurses, grocery and bank clerks and mail carriers.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet, sons Robert (Chris), Rodney, Steve and daughter Christina, brothers Dennis and Tommy and sisters Viola and Annabelle and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he adored.
"Bob" was always the life of the party, and to honor his memory we will have a Celebration of Life / Party on Saturday January 14th at the Brentwood Veterans Memorial Building, 757 First Street, Brentwood, CA 94513. Feel free to stop by anytime between 1:00pm and 6:00pm and enjoy Bob's favorite music and food and share your favorite stories and one-liners. This is just the way he wanted it. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to your local Disabled Amercian Veterans or Wounded Warriors Project.
My heart goes out to you and the family...I pray for strength and inner peace knowing he is no longer in pain. I will always remember his warm smile, funny humor and the image of cowboy boots and a bud in hand!! love you and the FAM xo
