Sandy was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. A dedicated athlete, he ran many marathons and later in life enjoyed long distance biking, participating in the Boston to New York AIDS ride and the Alzheimer's ride. Wellesley was his home for over 40 years and he was an active member of the Wellesley Village Church. He loved gardening and enjoyed many summers on Cape Cod.
Papa was an amazing grandfather to me and my cousins and brother. He helped me make bread when I was 3, and since then I have loved baking. Without him, I would not have found my passion: baking. He was always there for me when I needed him and always understood me. Papa made a great difference in my life and will always be with me in my heart- Eloise Saddler/Papa's granddaughter.
Papa was a very encouraging person to me. I liked when I went to Cape Cod with him. We would always walk down to the lighthouse together. I really liked it when I could play games with him. He would ask me all these questions about the sports I play. He will share a spot in my heart forever. - Tobias Saddler/ Papa's grandson
Dad was a devoted father, grandfather, husband and friend. He will be missed by many who loved him dearly. He loved the outdoors -- with biking, running, hiking and working in the yard. He enjoyed baking bread and deep dish pizza. He was one of the few who loved Excel speadsheets and organizing numbers. He was dedicated, loyal and extremely hard-working and took care of his family.
Sandy was kind, generous, and thoughtful. He graciously welcomed me into his family when Anne and I married and I could not have asked for a better father-in-law. Sandy will be dearly missed but we are comforted by the many fond memories of him that we will continue to carry with us.
Dad was a caring and generous father and grandfather. He was always there for us when we needed him, and he made an impact on all who met him. I admired his dedication to running, biking, and most of all, to his family. I am so incredibly grateful to have had him as my father, and I miss him dearly.
A dear friend for over forty years, we met Sandy when our children were infants, sharing child raising together from diapers to grandparenting. Because of Sandy and Gina we moved to Wellesley. Over the years we shared numerous lively dinner parties together, Christmas Eve gatherings, kids birthdays, graduations and weddings. Always kind, funny and thoughtful, Sandy is sorely missed.
Gina and I went to college together and were very close friends. We both moved to Boston, where Gina met Sandy. I always really liked Sandy, even though he teased me a lot. He was so athletic and smart. He had everything going for him, except maybe his hair! I can't imagine that he is no longer here...
