This memorial space is for all who knew and loved Bob Barber to share stories and memories. Having lost him seems almost impossible to believe, but his grin, the devilish twinkle in his eye, his sound advice, his playful nature, his incredible brain and ability to calmly look at any problem and find a solution, his love of the water, his family, his dogs, his career, will live in all of us forever.
Being unable to attend today's memorial, the three of us would like to share our tribute Bob became a huge part of our sailing life at Stingray Point Marina and even a sailing adventure to Bermuda. Had it not been for Bob, our knowledge and fun for the sailing would have been very limited. These memories will forever live on for us, as will Bob.
(I have taken just a few lines from a Walt Whitman poem.)
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weatherd every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
Sincerest sympathy to Bob's entire family. We'll all miss him greatly.
(A grateful crew member of Bob's great adventurous voyages aboard Razzmatazz)
