I knew Bob for 50 years almost to the day. He was a dear friend to me & my family from the start, always willing to go out of his way to help any way he could. Bob's analytical mind made him a formidable chessplayer, & he won many tournaments in the '60s & early '70s. Even in later years, he was tough to face because he fought hard & came up with ingenious traps. We'll sorely miss him
