To me having known you was a great pleasure!
I could be close to you and you family for many years and I can tell how fun, loving and caring person you were.
You always had a smile on your face and a shine on your eyes when talked about your “beautiful Portuguese woman”
Thank you for influencing life in such ways. Leaving a trail of love and your ways to be in constant presence in the lives those whom you love, and who love you, is the best gift of all. It was a pleasure and an honor to have known you, Rick.
I met Rick around 3:00 PM on September 16, 1965, on the first day of college at Northwestern University in Chicago. We were friends for 56 years, and will continue to be so in treasured memories, as long as I live. Come to think of it, no one who ever met Rick will forget him either. He was an extraordinary, vibrant being
I learned of Rick's passing just today. I am deeply saddened, and my heart is full. Rick was a friend and a mentor for nearly a decade. He loved his wife and daughters, deeply and wholeheartedly. He was brilliant, witty, kind, and truly good. An exceptional human. May his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.
Rick, Zarita, and Liana became a part of the Cooper family when they decided to have my mother, Barbara, be Liana's carer. My daughter Wendy was a few years older than Liana, and they got along like sisters. Over the years, Carina and Cassia joined our family too. Rick and Zarita were my bonus brother and sister and they, and the girls, brought so much love and laughter to our lives.
My parents, Barbara & Gene Cooper, were an extra set of grandparents for Liana, Carina, and Cassia. Between parties and their house and parties at ours, our bond with them grew and grew. We will always keep Rick, Zarita, and the girls in our hearts, and will remember Rick with so much love and laughter. May his memory be a blessing, now and always.
