Richard was a great guy.  I met him contra dancing in Concord, MA about 2006.  I went to Cornell 6 years after he did.  We talked hockey and climate change.  He was a wonderful guy, happy, thoughtful, and physically powerful.  A report he gave me corroborated predictions, 16 years ago of rising extreme droughts from climate change.  We had him over for dinner and visited him 2x in Maine.
