I hired Richard into Hewlett-Packard many years ago, and he was one of the best hires I ever made!  He was an integral part of the Systems Programming group and folks enjoyed working with him, he was so positive, happy, and willing to help others.  He also was a friend, going to concerts (yes, I dragged him to see the Grateful Dead!).  I'm sorry we fell out of touch.  RIP, RIchard.

I just saw this today, i am so sorry to everyone left behind, it certainly appears he had an exceptional life. Well done Richard. Richard Boucher i knew as i child he and his friend taught us how to do sit ups , he was in Jr High or High School. I think we were in elementary school at the time.

Just saw this today in my SPOHNC newsletter.  Very sorry to hear this.  Richard helped me immensely when I was diagnosed with the same type of throat cancer 11 years ago (that he had 20 years ago). He gave me the calm and hope I needed at that time.  I had the fortunate opportunity to go on a climbing trip with him up Mt. Rainer a few years after that. He will be missed.

It is heart breaking to see the news about RIchard. Writing this message from India and had an association of about 25 yrs with him. He was my manager at HP we stayed in touch after my relocation to India & after leaving HP. He was warm and affectionate, very supportive as a manager. We used to meet whenever he visited India and had plans to bring Olivia too. He will be missed.
