Ralph was an important and great influence in my life. From the early years when us kids were playing street hockey in front of the house all the way to the most recent times 50 years later. Ralph always had a way of holding a conversation with me that was meaningful. He wasn't questioning me or passing judgement or trying to project his opinion, just plan talking. He will be missed,

The world would be a better place if everyone had a Ralph O’Dowd in their life.  He lived his life as a “mentor” in a “pay it forward” fashion long before that was a thing.  Everyday he was physically able, he found ways make a difference in our neighborhood.  It was his quest and he was happy in its pursuit; I am grateful and better for his good example.  Peace to his beautiful family.
