When I was a child, we would usually visit our central New York relatives in the summertime. I remember my Uncle Ralph as a warm and smiling friend with a twinkle in the eye. His sister and my mother, Amanda DuChene Blanchette certainly had a special affection for Ralph because she named me after him, so naturally he also had a special place in my heart. Rest in peace, Uncle Ralph.
