Quincy was my big brother. Though I didn't meet Q until he was a Freshman in High School our bond was eternal. Through the hardest times in my young life Quincy was the calm voice that helped still the rage I had inside me. If he had it I had it and if I had a problem he had one too. That was how Q was, honest, genuine, caring, loyal and selfless. My whole family embraced Quincy as there son and he was even included in my little sister's nightly prayers. When Quincy was diagnosed with Scardosis he handled it as Quincy handled life, with a positive attitude, his hallmark smile, and plenty of laughter. 3 years ago I received a call that Quincy was going to die and that I should come if I could to say goodbye. When I made it to Providence I had the melody of I believe (Island Melody) by Johnathan Nelson playing in my heart, "...You are the God of miracles/You are the God of wonders/You are the God of Power so I believe..." As I walked in his room joy filled my heart and when they asked Quincy do you know this guy he immediately shook his head, "Yes." Stunned in amazement his doctor that morning proclaimed Quincy's recovery a miracle. I thank Jesus for giving me a brother like Quincy. Faith, my brother was strong in faith and very optimistic and his light shined amongst all who knew him. It hurts me that your gone but this I know, it is impossible to please God without faith and under circumstances that most people would've been negative and angry with God Quincy always wholeheartedly said he was alright and visibly had the peace that surpasses all understanding. Quincy, you left me with this: no matter what God gives you in life take it with joy, don't complain, have courage and most of all have faith.
I was not expecting this. Quincy was and still is one of my lifelong friends. We grew up together. We went to MtV Elementary all the way to East High School. We stayed in contact and checked up on each other. His heart was in the right place. He had a good heart. RIP!! RIL!! RIH!!
