The self-titled "handsome devil" loved everything Dutch, hated a mess and joked and laughed alot.
I still remember his request for "the orphan discount" and head shaking disbelief "you buy 'em books"
My dad was an excellent piano player, gardener and pretty much knew alot about everything, or thought he did, I will miss his advice, laugh and reassuring voice. XO
He was so patient with me as a babysitter for Dennis, Caroline, and Rick. He had to climb thru the window almost every time because I would not wake up. Just one example of his kindness and sense of humor. We did laugh. He will be missed by his family and friends. RIP Om Pete.
Opa was kind, funny, and opinionated (it runs in the family). What made him such a great grandfather was that he believed that all of us grandkids were literally the best, and I love him for that.
Dear Caroline,
I was saddened to hear that your father passed away. What I remember most about him was his contagious
smile and sense of humor. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mr Bol! What can I say about him? He was a beloved Dutch man who was determined to teach a little dutch girl (me) a few things in dutch! Hm! He taught me the love of Ha’kel (sp?) chocolate sprinkles atop a slice of soft bread and butter. Delish! He taught me how to drive a stick shift in the orange Thing! Scary but love driving a stick still to this day! He called me Lisa Giggle!! LOVE HIM
