My condolences to Peter's family. I met Peter on nearly my first day with the Red Cross in 2015. His passion for the community & his work helping those in need radiated from his face & smile. Unflappable, kind, caring & compassionate - he was the definition of all of them, yet those words still don't measure up to the person I met back then. We all are better off for knowing him.
Simply put Peter was the best friend I ever had. I will miss him forever. We met 37 years ago at The Williamstown Theatre Festival . We were cast in a play and got to wear wigs and soldiers uniforms. What fun, what laughs we had. If you were lucky enough to know Peter Hubbard you were lucky indeed. So fortunate were us who called him friend. Wise, caring, hilarious, kind, generous man he was
Sarah,Jennifer,John , I am sure your grief is overwhelming , a match for the magnanimity of the man.
Peter was like a blazing sun to be around - rays of warmth and understanding - and always great humor .
His passing is a big black hole in my life - but his Spirit , his Joy Of Life will inspire me every day of the rest of mine .
So sad to have just now learned that he is gone. I too was convinced he would beat the crab! Peter and I worked together at Bridge for several years and forged a friendship in and out of work. I admired his ability to find fun. He had his own compass and was wonderfully human. At Bridge, if there was a particularly hard-to-reach youth, Peter was our secret weapon. Somehow he could connect.
