We moved to Concord CA from Lodi spring of1959 as Cherry Trees were heavy with fruit.  Carol's family lived kitty-corner from us on Pear and they on Orange just S.E. of 4 Corners off Monument Blvd. Penny Rider was her next door neighbor to the West and Larry Young moved in on her West side and the Coynes were across the street from Penny.  Petal forever keeps a special place in my heart.

I will long remember having you and Everett as my neighbors in the valley ! You taught me cooking skills and recipes that I still use today. Your humor and the friendship we had helped me through some rough times during my parents divorce. Always a smile on your face and laughter in your voice. Will miss seeing you on my trips back to the valley. You and Everett are together again, NAMASTE

Great Aunt Petal was a fabulous role model. She inspired me to live more fully, explore the world, help others, and cook. I have warm memories of wandering her home and garden, marveling at all the treasures: artichokes in flower, bunnies to pet, a colorful array of pickled veggies, much laughter. A life lived richly and well.

Hey PT this is CT. You took me under your kooky, wonderful wing when I was a messed up kid in high school. I was a hippy kid with a camera and I reminded you of your younger days. You introduced me to Diane Arbus, you taught me how to cook, you let me into your amazing life with Ev in that gorgeous house, that garden, the delicious chaos! Forever changed by your kindness. I love you.
