Gene will be truly missed.  Gene gave me the opportunity of working as the PM Magazine co-host with Matt Lauer back in the early '80's.  He hired me to be the female co-host, and I will always be eternally grateful for that position.  He was a great mentor, and I enjoyed talking to him about journalism.  Gene is the reason I am how still living in Richmond. Gene was a man who taught me so much about television.  I worked with him a few years and we had a very informative and busy work day!  From there, I learned the other parts of television.  He was a boss, a mentor, a co-worker, an as well, a man I knew to be a good friend for those years. There's always a reason you meet the "unique"...unique he was  R.I.P Gene. You will be missed.
