There wasn’t a better airplane mechanic than Pat. I often told people he was one of the smartest guys I knew. He wasn’t always forthcoming with his knowledge, but if you were willing to get through the gauntlet of Patisms, he had much to share. His sarcastic humor made me laugh every day for years, and was a highlight of going to work. I will miss him for the rest of my life.
I observed Pat for 20 years working on my plane. He was a great teacher, taking time to explain things to a novice like me, I can’t emphasize how much I learned from him. He was a sticker for doing things right and also aesthetically pleasing to look at. I can’t recall how many times I had to have all the slots on the screws lined up exactly the same, “do it the right way". Miss you!
