Mom had a special gift for listening to and appreciating everyone she met....please leave a message for her; share your stories for all to read.

Auntie Pat was always kind, warm, genuine, and interested in whatever our family was doing. She was definitely one of the best bonuses I got from marrying into the McFarren family. I always hoped for one more occasion to meet up. I am sadden for our loss, but happy that she’s back together with Uncle Jeff once again.

Pat was such a beautiful person.  Always had a smile and always full of joy.  I am honored to have known her.

We were two peas in a pod. Her phone number was the first one I memorized. Which was concerning to my elementary school in Washington because in an emergency they didn’t think calling my grandmother in California would be very helpful. They didn’t know her like I did: she could fix anything! Maybe not actually, but she would always try. She sent cards for every holiday from the moment I was born. I have so many of them still. It’s a lot to pack when I move, but it’s always been worth it to haul those memories with me. And I’ve moved around a lot. She visited every place I have lived. She tried to do that with all of us grandkids. She said it helped her know where to send her prayers. When I was in a tent in the desert in Nevada for a whole summer, she and my mom came there too. She had a lot of fun hunting for fossils and having drinks with my classmates. They thought she was an absolute firecracker. And they were right. Her love for her family was match by her zest for life. She had to stay current on everything going on in the world and in all of our lives. And she wasn’t afraid to get involved! She spoke out for equality and justice. And she was always ready to learn something new.   She was my hero for as long as I can remember and she will always be the shining example I carry in my heart of compassion, generosity, and unconditional love.
