This memorial website was created in the memory of Patricia Hannum. We will remember her forever.
Growing up in Brooklyn I was surrounded by cousins, 9 boys and only 2 girls. For that reason Pat stood out. But to me she shined because after high school she worked hard and extended her education to become an RN and bravely after this she left Brooklyn to serve in the Navy. Pat was 7 years older and I admired her. I thought of studying nursing but my strengths were not math or science.
I met Pat as she walked her dogs every morning, without fail!, rain or shine. What a kind, lovely woman. The dogs she fostered hit the jackpot when they were placed with her!
I met Pat shortly after her husband and mother passed away of which just happened to me and we struck up a warm acquaintanceship. The last time I saw Pat she was waiting to receive communion in the car with one of her friends who didn’t show up and asked if she could join me in my car.
I pray that her soul rests in the Lord our God.
Pat was in my grief support group which meets once a month. She was tough and no-nonsense and yet warm and tender -- and we both loved animals. I will miss her. May she rest in peace. <3
I met Pat at a dance at St, Francis Xavier Gym when I was fourteen and she was the smartest and most beautiful girl I had ever met. There were a few great memories that I had held onto all my life or things we did together, but we could never work out a system of dating because she was so much more in personality than I was. Her memory made me move in the right direction in life.
