Orin Roosevelt Wakefield September 2, 1925 - October 27, 2017 Resident of El Sobrante, CA. Orin passed away peacefully with his family at his side, at age 92. He was born in Hollywood, CA. His parents, Orin Russell and Florine Keller Wakefield and sister Lois Giotta preceded him in death. He married the love of his life, Alice (Quick) Wakefield, who passed away in 1968. He found love again with his second wife, the late Alberta Rogers Wakefield and a third time with the late Juanita Clemmons Wakefield.
Orin loved the Navy, where he was a Lieutenant navigator. In 1957, he joined Factory Mutual Insurance as loss prevention specialist, specifically for chemical and later, nuclear power. His bright, intelligent mind was engaged in all he did.
Orin had great love and passion for his savior Jesus Christ. He lived out his faith in leading his family, actively serving in church, and meeting the needs of others, specifically during times of grief.
Orin is survived by his children, Beth Holly (Norm), Anne Bowser (Greg), Orin Robert Wakefield (Susanne), and Susie Wakefield; his seven grandchildren and spouses: Ryan (Sarah), Lance (Regan), Michael (Rebekah), Dara (Travis), Amanda (Matt), Orin Ryan, and Brent; his twelve great-grandchildren, his stepchildren, David (Linda), Bev (Jim), Debbie, Cheryl, Jodi (Richard), Colleen (Steve) and their children and grandchildren.
Orin was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Well Orin, you have gone on with the others.. no doubt having a fabulous time. Thank you for your wise and Godly example of prayer and faith. I will miss you terribly and so will Eddie. I will carry on.. until it's my time to join the party. Keep cheering us on in the Great Cloud of Witnesses.
