One of his tributes started out "Norman McDonald was an honorable man ... ". And indeed he was. I first met Norm and Deloris in September 2011, when I visited "their" church shortly after moving to Martinez. Norm's honour and integrity were so obvious right from the start. Mostly because of that, "their" church quickly became "my" church too.
