There are not words sufficient to describe the noble character and praiseworthy life of Norman Thomas Howard.  Humble as he was, he would probably fuss about even this brief little tribute; his friends, co-workers, and especially all of his family will miss him profoundly.  This is a very traumatic time for everyone who loved Norman, because he was so loveable.  Signed, Mrs. Norman Howard

I had the privilege of working with Norm at the Diocese from 2007-13.  He always provided a sense of warmth and joy.  His delight in the Lord, in his family, and in his animals was infectious.  I have only fond memories of Norm and am still encouraged by things he said and did.  I miss his smile.  To his family, I will keep you in my prayers through the days and months ahead.  Peace, Berny

It had been a pleasure having Norm serve on my team through our @Host Group at Christian Life Church.  Norm was always willing and able to help our other teams when needed. We spent Sunday mornings talking about all the cat colonies he took care of and the love for the Lord. He will truly be missed! Prayers to his family! Debbie Johnson

Norman my brother was special, unique, a good man, and knew the Lord Jesus.  I love my brother Norman! Norman has a good heart and a giving one. He loved that song, 'Jesus Loves Me This I Know'. He has been embraced in the arms of Jesus and will remain there forever. I'm so happy for him because I know he's happy! I look forward to seeing Norman again and living with him eternally!  Joy

Can a thousand cats thank a loving guardian like Norm. He fed them, did his best to provide shelter for all he could. Searched for lost pets. All on his own time & dime. They did thank him, by looking into his eyes with gratefulness & love. The cats he cared for understood his love & he theirs. Two species, one creator, unconditional love. He's headed to the rainbow bridge!

Norman was a wonderful caring man.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  A fierce defender of the helpless, a gentle and loving man.  Thank you for all you did for others Norman.  Ginny Roub

Dear Howard family,
We will never forget Norman's kindness and dedication to finding our friend's cat, Spyder, who was lost far from home. When we first met Norman at the beginning of the search I knew he would be the one to find him. You see, I was praying that no one is ever lost to God, neither man nor beast. Then we ran into Norman, who had seen our posters and was out searching, too. When he told us a bit of his back story and that he went by Rollyn (with a "y") Thunder, I knew he was the one God sent to help Spyder (with a "y"). He was a man with a mission, faith, determination, and love. When you pray with faith and knowledge, God will direct your path.
We are so grateful to have known Norman even for a very short while. We will honor him by continuing to work to help homeless cats in our area.
With much sympathy to the family,
Anita Walton
