Norma was my mother-in-law and friend for the last 30 years. I will miss her practical, wise advice when things get tough. I learned many things from her: how to swaddle a baby tightly, how to wrap a present, the benefits of quality shoes, and the importance of hiring a house keeper. I will always miss her.
To all the Krieges please accept our most sincere condolences. I think back to when I was a child and Norma always shared Uncle Danny with us. Even with a house full of her own children she allowed him to spend time at our house helping my mom and doing stuff for us. As I got older we always knew we could count on her and Uncle Danny to be there for us. Her memory lives on in all of us.
I have known Norma for about 30 years, ever since my sister married Norma and Dan’s son, Mike Norma immediately impressed me as an extremely determined and unflappable woman and she proved to be both of those things in spades throughout her life. She’s one-of-a-kind and lived life to its fullest. Though her spirit and determination will live on through her family, she will be missed.
I’ve known Norma for 30 years. Her son, Mike, is married to our daughter, Becki. I’ve always admired Norma’s “can do” attitude and her willingness to work hard. We’ve had some good conversations over the years and lots of laughs. She will be missed.
Norma is my sister, Becki’s, mother-in-law. I’m grateful that I got to know her for a long time. Norma always impressed me as someone who was very brave, and I admired that. I was really impressed that she walked down the aisle for Mary’s (her granddaughter) wedding last summer, despite not being well shortly before that. She was strong and tough. I will miss Norma.
We’re do I do I start... my heart is in half today??My mother was a wonderful friend, mother and a beautiful human being. She taught me about so many things! Way to many to mention!??She showed me how to be strong yet tough, how to dig in a get things done. She always showed me grace in many things we did. If I needed something to be done once, with good quality, I called my mother!??????????????????????????
To all the Krieges please accept my most sincere condolences. Norma and Danny are in my thoughts and prayers.
Grandmere was the perfect picture of gracefulness, beauty and wisdom. I will miss our conversations about fashion, business & being a mom. She taught me it was okay to be strong, opinionated and to live life to the fullest. The love between her and Grandpa Dan was in the vision God designed true love to be. She was an example of all these things and more - I will love and miss her dearly.

I met Norma in the 70s. We met in a philosophy class and became friends instantly sharing cooking, philosophical thoughts, and sewing. She helped me strike out on my own by renting me a tank house she and Dan owned in Capitola. She and Dan have always had a special space in my heart. I am saddened by her passing. She was fun and creative.
Norma was my mother. She accomplished quite a bit over 87 years. She raised 7 children, went back to college in her 40s, served on the Capitola Planning Commission and remodeled and managed a beautiful 3 story multi-unit victorian with my father where they lived together for over 40 years until recently moving to a retirement community. She was loved by her family, friends and tenants.
"Norma is a lovely woman", my granddaughter said after we took her home one day. We met just recently as I drove her to and/or from medical appointments. We hit if off right away and became friends as we talked about our families during our drive. She always kept positive and lived her life as fully as possible. Her love for Dan and her family was very special. She was a pleasure to know.
"Some people come into our lives and quickly go, while others stay and leave footprints in our hearts and we are never the same." Aunt Norma has left a very deep footprint in my heart. My favorite image of her is Norma in her sunlit "sitting area" next to the back door at her home, reading the newspaper, knitting or just chatting with me always with the sun streaming in on her.
Hi Grandmere. I am so glad that God chose you to be my Grandma. Your kindheartedness and generosity will never be replaced. You've had a strong Catholic Faith your whole life, which you've passed onto me. You and Grandpa traveled many to places, and you never let anything stop you from doing what you love. Your strength and resourcefulness inspire me in so many ways. I love you so much!
Norma, Danny and my mom were real estate tycoons (80's -90's). Norma saw no limits- house is condemned- no problem, buying multi unit apartments - no problem, drug addicts running a house of ill repute in her apartment building- no problem, adding units to the apartment complex - no problem, using school teachers as painters- no problem. No problems, only opportunities- That was Norma
Norma was my Aunt. She was smart, funny and not someone to be messed with. I loved spending time with her. When you’d stop by Norma and Danny’s to visit, Norma would throw her arms in the air crying “You’re here”. Then she’d pat the cushion next to her and ask you to sit down and chat. I spent many happy hours in her company.
Such sad news. I first met Norma when I was in high school with Paul in 1973, he invited me to lunch at his house across the street. She was so nice to me and treated me just like I was part of the family. I'll never forget her kindness and strength as the Kriege's Mom.
