There was no one like Mike in this world. I have so many memories and stories about him and yes indeed, he will be missed beyond measure. My heartfelt thoughts, warm wishes, and sympathy to each member of his family this day and always. I'm leaving a story about Mike on the stories page and on the photos page a photo I took of him that he loved.
I met Mike through Jenny many years ago and he always had that winning smile. Mike did many windshield repairs on my car through the years and he always came to the rescue by coming to my job and doing such a perfect job and doing all of the paper work for me. He made life so easy for me by doing that. My prayers and thoughts to the family and cherish the memories as they bring comfort.
Dear Mike,
Today would have been our 25th anniversary. Just because we were no longer married doesn't mean I don't send you love and my dearest thoughts of today. I remember when we were deciding on a date for our wedding and you said, "I've got it! Easy to remember --- the Ides of March, March 15th!" And so it was settled as the day. Love.
Mike, the clock just changed to midnight and it's now Oct 17th, your 89th birthday. I sure wish you were here on this earth, but know that I'm thinking of you this day. Much love sent to you with a rousing cha-cha, Latin style, to Turn the Beat Around! Oooo, boy. XXX
Mike, it's Jan. 2, 2018, and I can hardly believe the time that's gone by. I am late to wish you a Happy New Year but I remember the old ones of playing Triominoes & Cribbage for hours while we watched the ball come down. I toast you now and wish you all the happiness a soul could possible have. XOXOXO You were the best, Love.
On my homepage is a story about a man that gave blood every week for 60 yrs. That made me wonder if you ever got the thanks you well deserved for giving blood every month like clockwork for many decades. If you didn't, I'm standing and cheering for you now.
I think of you so often; wish you were here, and sending love to you through the clouds. XXXX
Happy Birthday, Mike. It's amazing to think that today is the 90th, isn't it? I'll say what you always say, "..and just look, I still look exactly like I did when I was 39!" Well, I'm not so sure 39 would be the case, but I do know you were always the most handsome man in the room in my eyes, and no one loved Dot's Layer Cake, yellow batter, chocolate frosting, more than you. Sending love
Happy Hanukkah, Mike! I know you weren't practicing, but I still loved celebrating the holidays with you. Besides, you loved my latkes and my matzoh ball soup, remember? I swear those matzoh balls were so light they could float all the way to Heaven. Get ready, here they come, XXXXX
Happy Hanukkah, Mike !! Think of you often and Jenny and I reflect on the fun memories that we all had together in the past. We all had some great times together. Sorry that I missed your 90th birthday.
Happy New Year, Mike ---- As usual, I fell asleep and missed the ball coming down by 30 seconds, but when I woke up to wonder what happened to that 30 seconds, I floundered around for a minute and then I thought of you. We had some great New Year's Eve times, didn't we? And so yet another year has gone by and yet, I still think of you and wish you love. XOXOXO
Happy Heavenly New Year 2019 Mike. It is so hard to believe another year has flown by and it seems like we just started 2018. I think of you often when Jenny and I talk about all of the fun all of us used to have. I am sure you are teaching those that don't quite have the dance moves that you did to dance. Hugs to you.
Two years today; I can hardly believe it as it seems only months. Thinking about you today; I think of you every day but today is so strong. Sending a heartful of love to you,
Jenny
Just stopping by to 'see' you. You've been on my mind for the last few days and a million things have popped up either in print or TV or in music that has reminded me so much of you. I alternate between a good chuckle, an out and out laugh, and even tears, but all of it lets me drift into daydreams of those better days when you were here. I'm sure you can hear me. Love to you.
....and here it is, your 91st birthday! How can this be? All I did was blink and 32 years have gone by. Sitting here shaking my head in astonishment and wishing you were still here. I know one thing, and that is you were a loved man and still are. Today, I'm sending you a virtual plate of Veal Parmesan, and just for you, I was sure to ask if the veal was the real veal, haha, remember?
Happy Heavenly 91st Birthday Mike. It is so hard to believe that you are 91 years young. It seems like months ago that we all use to go to Lightfoots and dance the night away and then go out for breakfast after closing Lightfoots up. I sure couldn't keep up that pace this day and time.
...and Hanukkah has already arrived again. I swear the time passes so quickly now. Since this holiday lasts for the week, I'll be sure and make your favorite dishes always with your "must-have" applesauce. PS, greet Chubby as she just left this earth 2 days ago & drop in on Joey with a hug as I know he could use it. Loving you always.
Hi, love; just running by to wish you a Happy Belated New Year --- I can't believe how fast time passes. Well, this year I fell asleep as usual but woke up 7 minutes to midnight and actually saw the ball come down! First time in years! Amazing. And then I cried. Something about it turning 2020. Miss you. XXX
Hi, Mike; I need to tell you -- rather Thank You -- for something. Thank you for holding me 'that day'. I know you know the day I'm talking about. You were the one that saved my life, you were the one that held me through the most unbearable pain I'd ever felt. Here I am, 73 and that was the ONLY time in my entire life that someone just held me. I love you. Thank you.
Well here we are. Another birthday, can you believe it? You'd be 92 today and to think I remember your 57th only a blink ago. For your birthday this year, I hope the heavens are having a giant party with all your favorite things: Cold borscht, cold boiled chicken, a dup bridge game that never ends & the best dance bands revving up in the background & ready when you are. Love from me XXX
Dear Mike, 4 years; it's just hard to believe. Seems I only talked to you the other day. You're still missed you know. I look back remembering such good times. Remember when we were addicted to TriOminoes? The game got so big I made an entire tray bigger than the king-sized bed just to play & scorecards so thick they made a book. Thinking of you now as I do so often; sending such a hug XXX
That great day of your birth has popped up -- Oct 17th, 1928. Wow, seems yesterday. I was blessed when you came into my life & I know you know that. Both of us had a slightly off-the-wall way of looking at things & so we really got each other. A blessing for sure. I'll never forget, never. When my notes stop to you, I'll be knocking at your door. Love always, on your 93rd birthday XXX
Hi, love. Sometimes I wonder why I'm the only one that posts to your page. One other person posted a couple of times but that was only because of me. You already knew that. But all the people you knew in Richmond, it boggles my mind. Well, I've never forgotten for one minute. You already knew that, too. You were loved; still are.
Thinking of you today, Mike. XO
I added 2 more photos, both of us, since no one else sees them. I doubt anyone gets 'out of joint' about it, but it means something to me.
XO
Mike, it's 5 years today since you've been gone. I can hardly believe it's been that long as it only seems yesterday you were in my living room and we sat talking for hours. Yesterday.
I haven't forgotten and you are still so missed. XXX
It's August 8, 2022, and you popped into my mind a few minutes ago. So do you still ck in on those you knew? I imagine you do. But you know what I wonder? I wonder why no one ever leaves notes to you here -- you, who went out of your way to help others, who knew everyone in town. It just sort of irks me. You counted. You'd think someone would take a minute.
Happy Birthday, Mike! 94 today & I can hardly believe it. All these decades have passed & most times it still feels like only bare weeks ago. For today, round up a table of birthday bridge, blast out Turn The Beat Around, have the entire Dot's yellow batter, chocolate frosting cake & know someone still remembers today. XXX, me.
And here we are.I'm a day late but as I can believe you see, I'm sick as a dog--4th day of the mess & 2nd time around with it.The last time lasted over 2 weeks, then 2 weeks of reprieve, then back again. Negative test for covid. I wouldn't wish whatever it is on anyone. Anyway, that's what made me a day late to tell you that I'm thinking of you.
I would like to know either where Mike was buried or where his ashes are. I have found no reference to either online. Today, for no particular reason, it's been on my mind, and I see that still no one other than myself ever bothers to post any memories about Mike, a wonderful man. I swear,. it's mind-blowing and so upsetting. There is no way in this world that I could be the only one.
I'm a day late! Not that I didn't remember, I just couldn't get to my PC. So a day late, but never a hug short, Happy Birthday, Mike! 95 today, I can't believe it. Bet you still look 35, haha. (That was a inside joke we had, should anyone see this which I doubt).
Never think I have forgotten you, because I haven't and never will. Happy Birthday, Mike XXX
Dear Mike,
I didn't forget Jan. 21st. You are never forgotten.
Much harder to breathe these days so not at my pc much, but you are forever in my heart. Know that. XXX
Hi, Mike -- tomorrow you'll turn 96! Well, it's only a number; you're still 35 so don't even think about it. I know you get that old joke :). I wanted to post to you today because I'll be at doc appts for the next 2 days and didn't want to miss your birthday. I think of you so often. I know you know my heart as I know yours. Enjoy your day. I'll make a toast! XOXOXO
There is a weather warning out today. Word is, there will be snow and ice beginning tomorrow afternoon, thru the night, and into Monday. I love the snow. Hate the ice because that probably means power outages. Anyway...Mike, I was just thinking about you and wanted to connect here. I miss you. XXXOOO. Won't be long.
Tomorrow. I haven't forgotten.
Happy 97th, Mike! 97th! I can hardly believe it, and still, you look only 35, haha. Well, you're a handsome man, that's for sure. Celebrate the day, celebrate the spirit which is all of us, and sing and dance in the twinkling stars.
Love always from me to you, XOXO
Mike, I just cannot believe its now 9 years since you left this world. 9 years! In my miind, all the things we did together seen like just days ago. You are missed, really missed, but I know your heart checks in from time to time and feels it. Love to you always and may your heavenly bridge hands always be 7 no trump. XOXOXO
Hi, honey -- Guess what day it is! Well, it's 5am, I'm awake and have been waiting to come over here to wish you a Happy Birthday! See? I never forget, but of course I never forget you, either. You have been on my mind an awful lot lately. Wish I could throw my arms around you and hug you hard. Like I told you the last time we spoke, I loved you then, I love you now, & I'll always love you
