My husband Mike was a wonderful complex man full of honesty and integrity.  He would eagerly go out of his way to help people.  He loved traveling, camping, fishing and hunting.  He did beautiful wood working. He loved having friends and family over for dinners and visits.  He liked cooking for folks.  He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Barb,  my heart breaks for u.  I was very blessed for our long standing friendship.   Mike was an amazing big hearted man.  My memories of our partys, get togethers and his humor will always be with me.
When dust settles I'll  call you.
Hugs and love, Sidney

Wonderfully Complex are definitely attributes of my big brother.  He loved a good joke and would take it to the extremes if he could.  As a kid I remember Mike letting me go hunting when we were visiting down in Effingham.  Well he got a rabbit, which was awesome except for the fact that Mike stated he took me with to carry the game.  A new experience for me so I did as instructed and grabbed by its back legs.  Totally unexpected though was how high I jumped when the damned thing tried jumping out of my hands.  Forgetting that animals will often continue moving even after they’re dead; Mike definitely got the last laugh.  Barb, it’ll take you a long time before you can find some sense of normal again.  Through all this pain that you don’t deserve but it comes when losing a spouse; hopefully remembering the humorous side of life Mike enjoyed so much will bring you comfort.

Barb, I worked with Mike for many years.  He had a great sense of humor and I enjoyed working with him.  I will miss him.  I will be making a donation to our local food bank here in Star in Mike's name and memory, for those in need at this time of angst.  My condolences and prayers are with you and Mike's family.  Stay healthy.

Perry and I are sorry to hear of Mike's passing.  Mike was a great coworker at FAA, could always count on him to get back to you when needed, to give the straight scoop, and get to the bottom of anything.   I remember him always having a healthy snack at some point during a workday, and once with a fresh orange in hand saying his wife was always taking care of him.  Enjoyed his FB posts.

Barb, we will always treasure our memories from Cordova, Alaska, when we first met you and Mike.  He was such an awesome man.  So funny and enjoyable to be around.  I remember he used to give Brandon heck and loved getting him all riled up!  We had some good times together.  We were like family in Cordova because none of us had family around.  Love you and praying for you, friend.

Since we lived so far away we did not get to visit with Mike very often but when we did we enjoyed listening to his stories of fishing in Alaska and other general stuff. He was a good husband to my cousin and we liked him very much. God grant Barb peace and comfort. Cousin Audrey

Very grateful and thankful that we were able to see you last December.  You will forever be in our hearts.  May you rest in peace big guy!

I wish i could name all of the wild wonderful places my gandfather and grandmother took me as a small child growing up in Alaska. Grandpa was always making sure that there were activites and adventures for us children growing up, and though it's been a long time, i still have a photographic memory for many moments fshing, campfires with glacier views, long drives, and wild animals.

I'm even fairly certain that Grandpa Mike taught me how to ride a bike, which is still my favorite activity at 30! I'll miss my grandfather, and he will always be a reminder to make the upmost of the time we have to share with the ones we love.
