I had the pleasure of working with Fran Cardona, Michael's mother, when I started at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in 1987. Through Fran I got to meet Michael, and have been honored to have been his friend for the past 4 decades.  He has been an inspiration to so many of us, particularly for his dedication to and sacrifice for the Walk for Hunger. He was one of a kind and I'll miss him.
