Mel and Jane lived next door to my parents in Aptos for many years. They were wonderful, loving neighbors and friends. When my boys were young, visiting there, the boys couldn't wait to go see the calliope man and help him tinker in his garage. I still have Mel's wind chimes hanging in my yard. After my father died, my mother lived alone; Mel and Jane were there for her in so many ways.
