Keeping Matthew's immediate family and friends in my prayers since I received the sad news. I am so very sorry for your lost.  I pray that you all can find comfort through fond memories of your son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend known as Matt.  May God Bless you and accept Matthew in his home.

Matthew was one of my closest friends at VLS. He was funny, brilliant, and had a heart of gold. His only ambition that I knew of was to use his talents and degrees to do good and help people, especially those less fortunate souls who are all too often neglected. That type of selfless work takes an enormous toll. My heart breaks for his family and clients. He made a difference in the world.

Matt was an awesome person full of spunky wit and always challenging me and my son to remember to take care of ourselves just as much as others . He was a very kind and cool guy I can't believe he is gone . I'm so sorry for all of the family and friends and I wish I could hug each of you . He will truly be missed but I will carry him and all our talks in my heart forever love ya Mr Matt

Oh Matty...
I have been listening to El Concierto de Aranjuez, how I loved watching figure skating with you. I have beautiful memories of watching Michelle Kwan's performance to those soulful strings in the sanctuary of your presence.

Just heard of Matts passing. I only worked with him for a few months but he was always so warm and genuine and compassiinate. He always had a kind word or something encouraging to say. He was just an all aroind gentle soul and i really did enjoy being in his presence. The world got a little sadder. Prayers and condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed

I am so sorry to hear this tragic news.  I had the fortune of working with Matt when he was a student at the South Royalton Legal Clinic in Spring, 2006.  He was absolutely delightful.  Matt was hard-working and conscientious yet he always had the ability to make others smile (and, on occasion, laugh uproariously).  Matt had a genuine and loving spirit which will surely be missed by many.

He was my best friend in high school. We didn’t keep in touch, but he was always in my heart. I will miss him, and offer prayers and condolences to his family.

I want to extend my deepest sympathy and heart felt condolences to the Chiocca Family on the loss of Matthew. I am stunned. I met Matthew at the Growing Tree in Richmond,VA. We became fast friends there and had great times in the summer as kids. Later as adults we were able to re-connect briefly when we was living and working in Vermont. I will definitely miss him. I cherish those summers.

I am so sorry to hear of this great loss. I met Matt when we were at Tufts Summer Session, and we visited each other at Hofstra/Bennington. He was with me when I got my first tattoo in NYC, and he spent Thanksgiving with my family that year.. i think it was Thanksgiving.. regardless there was food and he helped me not lose my mind. He was such a wonderful soul and i think of him often.

Matt made a lasting impression on me, even though I only had the chance to spend the summer with him at Tufts. He was witty and had a ready smile - a real bright spot in any recollection of my high school days. Thinking of all who miss him and wishing for the peace he would’ve wanted for you all.
