I was a student of Marvin Rintala in the 1960s, taking his course in comparative politics. In graduate school, his understanding of generations focused two of my papers. When I started teaching the notes from his class provided me with the basis for teaching a comparative politics. We remained in touch.and his example helped me model what a professor should be to his students.
Marvin Rintala was my freshman political science professor at Boston College in 1977. During our first class, he stated as o e if his goals that not one of us would have a clue as to hsmis political leanings, Left or Right, by the end of the semester.
He made good on that goal. Rest well, sir.
