I remember Marty from my first ever bike race, the junior state road championships, in 1963, in Coyote valley in San Jose. Three guys broke away and won the race. Marty and I were in the pack. I lost track of Marty for about 50 years, until he picked me out on a club ride with the Almaden Cycle Touring Club.in about 2013. Marty was a special guy. He will be missed. -- Bob Orr
Paul Owen introduced me to Marty and then Marty introduced my wife and I to biking many years ago. After that he and I took some wonderful rides together in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He had a phenomenal memory for dates and places. He could remember exactly where we were and when I said this or that. More than that, we laughed a lot. He will truly be missed. Joe Cook
