Fortunate for many fond memories of Marta’s beaming smile and boisterous laugh. She and Bill balanced career and family, making it seem effortless and natural. In myriad ways, Marta models my expectations and hopes as a professional and parent. Marta’s kindness and generosity, love of family and life will endure in the hearts of many.

Marta was my Aunt and one of my favorite people. Her and Bill impacted my life in such a positive way I will always be grateful. She had enthusiasm for life, balancing the demands, making time for people dear to her and for adventure. Her smile and eyes told you she cared, life was better around her. Marta made sure you had snacks, games and blankets, we all loved being around her. RIP

I agreed with Marta in everything;  politics, religion, personal relationships because she was right!
She was so accomplished in every facet of her life;  work, marriage, motherhood, grand parenting, golf, picklleball, tennis, hiking, decorating, and creating great parties.  Everyone wanted to be around Marta and Bill.
The friendship she showed me will have to carry me.

I truly loved Marta and cared for her like a family member.  Marta was so practical!  If Marta didn’t know how to do something, she would figure it out.  She loved a challenge.  She flew through every puzzle in the newspaper every day.  Especially those 5 star Soduku puzzles.   Bill and Marta were the best match together!  RIP

I have so many happy memories of time spent with Marta and Bill, but I will never forget her generosity, the way she smiled with her eyes, and her ability to make people feel at ease in her company.

From the time Roger and I first met Marta and Bill, they were applying for membership in MPCC at the time, we knew they were people we wanted to spend time with. We are grateful to have had that opportunity. Marta is right, we are very sad and we will cherish our memories of her always. She was taken from us too soon and we will miss her.

Bill and Marta welcomed Chuck and I to MPCC with open arms. Marta was such a classy lady who always had a smile on her face. She will be missed by many!

Marta gave instructions -- be sad and then move forward and remember all the great memories she created with you.  Let's honor her wishes and do just that.

I started flipping through my memories with Marta and Bill
So many wonderful adventures.
Marriages, children, travel, jobs
moving  and all done with enthusiasm and a graciousness
that was Marta’s nature. Forever grateful for your friendship

I met Marta through golf. I was fortunate to play with her several times in an annual event at Starr Pass. She was a lovely person and so much fun. She taught me how to putt those slick greens!  She definitely lived her life to the fullest. I’m so saddened by this unexpected news. Her family is in my thoughts. Til we meet again my friend.

Marta was the band’s number one fan. She would dance & clap for every song at every performance, and was very supportive when we would take over her living room for practice. All this as a retired Medicare recipient. I can only imagine what she must have been like when she met Bill in London 50 years ago, & he was playing music with the likes of Stewart Copeland. What a free spirit!

After knowing Marta for 50 years I can say that she has always been adventurous and tried to lived each day to the fullest. She was always in good spirits and wanting to know how she can make her friends’ or family’s day better. Such as last month just after her diagnosis, she chose not to share this horrible news with us so as not to put a damper on our visit. The inspiration that Marta has shown us will always be with us.  We will all miss you.

There's a new, big hole in my heart. Marta had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the world. For an egomaniac like me, that was refreshing and comforting. She will not be forgotten.

Bill and Marta were always very gracious to the AT&T marshalls from the day they moved in.  On chili day Marta had coffee waiting on us when we arrived, chilli for lunch, and a nice vodak waiting at the end of the day.  She was the best and we will miss her dearly.  We will always be there for you Bill.

Marta was a true Lady. Kind, generous, loving, fun and a friend to everyone. We had some fun times with our boys growing up together. Some silly stories that still get told over and over again. We will miss you Marta but will never forget you.

Marta wasn't with us long enough, but she used well the time she was given. She lived a successful life and left us still missing her and better people for having known her. Susan and I are fortunate to have known her. She still inspires.

Betty & I were so very lucky to meet Bill & Marta at our 1st NineWineDine 5 years ago & we’ve been golfing/dining ever since. Marta was always the facilitator: “let’s go to the wharf for Thanksgiving or let’s have crab & tamales for Christmas.” On each occasion, we celebrated our friendship, happy to have found each other. Marta will always remain in our hearts. We will miss her dearly.

Marta made everything more fun - she lit up a room and engaged all those around her.  She seemed to live life to the fullest and always up for a new adventure.    How lucky we all were to have known her and have spent time with her!!
We will miss Marta's smile, we wil miss Marta's laugh and we will miss her presense in our lives

Marta was a unique personality.  Marta was Marta.  She stood by her beliefs uninfluenced by others.  She was the energizer bunny, the organizer, “the dancing queen”, my brilliant friend and a forever friend.  Every time we talked it was like yesterday.  She was cosmopolitan- travelled all over the world and loved every moment.  I will miss you Marta.  May you Rest In Peace.

Marta was so much fun and so caring, with eyes and a wonderful smile that always said it all!  How wonderful that we will always be able to remember her wonderful win with her friend Robyn of the Member/Member golf tournament just 3 weeks ago!  Yes, we are all sad, but we can cherish the wonderful memory of that win!  Marta was a very special person, I am honored to have known her.

Marta became my friend and sister after we reconnected about 5 years ago. She had such a bright smile and made everything more fun. She introduced me to all things at MPCC and life in Pebble Beach. I will never forget our happy hours at Spyglass National Park and all the fun golf we played, including a few Invitational wins. I’ll focus on the fun times. Peace and love to you.

I met Marta at UCSB in the dorms. We became roommates and our families became lifelong friends.  I adored and admired her from the start.  She was a natural leader: confident, sophisticated and wise beyond her years.   She taught me so much and I loved and will sorely miss her and will forever hear her over my shoulder.

I will cherish every memory of my dear, loving, fun, wise friend. Marta thought me many things but her wisdom in being a grandma is closest to my heart. If I can be half the Grandma she was, I will be blessed.
When I think of Marta now I have a big smile on my face that pushes back the tears.

It's rare to know someone filled with such a positive spirit.  Marta was that person.  Her smile was her beacon.  Her joy and laughter washed over us all.  Remember Marta when you feel uncertain.  "You've got this," she'll confidently remind you.

How lucky we were to have Marta in our lives.  She made everything more fun and more interesting.  I loved her stories of her travel adventures with Bill.  She was kind, caring, generous and wise.  We will keep Marta's joyful spirit in our hearts and in her memory we promise to "live life well".

Goodbye is not forever and the end.  It just means that we will miss Marta very much … her smile, twinkle in her eyes and her “can do it” attitude !!! I am fortunate to have known Marta the past few years at MPCC.

Marta was my Aunt-in-law for many years.  When she met me, I was in college & she told me I could come over & do my laundry anytime!  I was there that weekend! That was Marta, always taking care of others, sharing everything she had.  We shared our birthday week & I can't believe I won't receive my bday text this year.  RIP I love u.

A tribute to Marta from someone in the long-ago Dropmore years.  I remember Marta well, sitting out in the Stables courtyard and on the sloping lawn.  She was a lovely part of a lovely memory.  Heartfelt condolences to Bill and her family and friends.  She will not be forgotten, even after 50 years.

One of the sweetest people I've known.  A smile I will always remember.

Candle lit  by Momi Chinn  on October 18th, 2021

I remember Marta as a quick wit with keen intelligence, not at all sappy and, practical in so many ways. She got things done, her way. I saw her on the Boardwalk near Asilomar several times that last month of her life (dog walking). She never let on about the life/health crisis she was facing. Marta left this life, her way. She was a rare spirit, indeed!  Thank you for all you did, Marta! ??
