So deeply saddened by the passing of a tremendous person who was a mentor and a friend. Sandy was a true believer in the power of public service to help people and build communities. Sandy made it her mission to help others in every way possible. She possessed the keenest mind and kindest spirit. Sandy, you left the world a better place and will be remembered for all of your countless contributions. I’ll remember all your lessons and all our dinners at 224. Rest well Sandy.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of this remarkable woman. As the social workers Union President, we occasionally clashed, but in later years, we reconnected and became friends. I admired her wisdom, vision, humor, and toughness. She was committed to helping children and families, and I will never forget her.
Condolences to Bill, and her family and friends.
