When we moved to our home in Lafayette, just across the street from Marie, I remember so well how welcoming she was.  We shared a love of gardening and exchanged Iris rhizomes and other favorites from our gardens.  Marie was a fun and positive addition to the various block parties and progressive dinners--always with anecdotes about the neighborhood.
