Margie Turner always had a smile. It was astonishing to see someone of 97 yrs interact with family & friends. Her apartment was always warm and inviting, welcoming to family, friends & staff. Her cherished treasures, designed & crafted uniquely and ceramics fired in the kiln, were lovingly given to family members. Her family was faithful to the end, which says how endeared she was to them.
She showed me the circle of life - one filled with happiness, and love. She was my godmother, my second mother. I moved to Richmond twice because I wanted to be near her. When I was little she had me rake mountains of leaves, in college she showed me my first fall - bought my 1st pumpkin, woke me from the pantry banging with a broom, - when she was old I tried to comfort. Perfect love.
Margie's spirit and humor enchanted everyone. Her order of ice cream after lunch was a mischievous and always indulged secret. She was a lovely and loving friend to my mother and I will always be grateful to her for her kindness. Helen and I will miss your smile.
She was the most wonderful aunt to me. She could always make me laugh. She cared deeply for her family and many friends. I felt I could tell her most anything. I hope her love for humankind will be passed on through members of her family and close friends. She touched many souls. She has earned her angel wings. Sissie
Aunt Margie was a favorite relative. She always had the ability to take a troubling situation and make it seem lighter with a remarkable laugh and an optimism for believing in a better tomorrow. Conversations were engaging and uplifting. Many a time I would call between patients just to say “Hi Margie, how is my favorite Aunt ?” She would cackle, and it would make my day.
Margie, I will miss our conversations, but your wonderful spirit lives.
