I wish I could hug you & celebrate today with you. I miss you so much. Yesterday, we were looking at Easter stuff and I was remembering how special you made every holiday for us. Your creativity gave us wonderful, imaginative decorations & beautiful cards. The thought of your delicious meals makes my mouth water. I love you, Mom. I miss you & think of you every day. Happy Birthday!!
Another year without you, Mom. It has been a pretty good year. I am remembering more of the good times than those final, difficult, devastating days. I think of you and Dad every day. I love you so much. We went to Big Basin last Sunday, and you were everywhere with me. We had such good times there and at Mt. Madonna. Thank you so much for sharing with Al and me your love of nature.
Oh, Mom. Today is your 103rd birthday. I wish you were here to celebrate, but I am glad you are not because I know you still would be depressed about Alan's unexpected death last May. This has been a terrible year, and I am glad you did not have to experience it. I know Alan meant the world to you, as he did to me. I miss him and you & Dad so, so much! The sadness is overwhelming.
They say that time heals all wounds, eases all sadness; but, no, I have not found that to be the case. In spite of my on-going sadness, I am remembering with so much love and gratitude the good family times you and Dad made happen for Al and me. You both shared with us your love of nature and of learning and of being with family. Thank you so much for that. I'm lucky you were my mom!
105 years ago today you were born into a family with two loving parents and an older brother who became your idol. Three years later your younger brother was born, and he became your lifelong playmate. You had a good life. You had many, many people who loved you. Your large family get-togethers and reunions were full of love and good humor. I am so glad you were my mom. I miss you...
Dear Mom. The years since you left us have been difficult. In 2017 Jim B died, 2018 Chet died, 2019 Alan died. In March 2020 a worldwide pandemic became a killer. We still avoid people, wear masks, have to get numerous vaccinations. We may be on the verge of a Civil War, maybe, even a Nuclear War. Sadness & fear have become a way of life. I miss you but am glad you missed all this.
Today is Mother's Day 2025. It also happens to be the 9th anniversary of the day you died, Mom. And I miss you still. Gene and I are happy in our new home where every time I get to watch the sunset over our small lake I wish you were here to enjoy that with me. I know you always wanted a home that would allow you to watch the sunset; I hope, somehow, you are enjoying that with me. Love....
Oh, Mom. I miss you and Dad and Al and Grandma so much. I'm trying to let go of all past sad memories and keep all of the past wonderful memories. That's easier said than done, but I am getting better at it.
Today is the 10th anniversary of the day you died, and it's the day after Mother's Day. It's always so fitting that you died just after Mother's Day. I love you, Mom.
I ran out of room....I wanted to let you know that I had planned to scatter your and Dad's ashes at Mt. Madonna today, but I don't yet have the permit allowing me to do that. I hate that Big Basin no longer allows us to scatter ashes, as I know that was your and Dad's wish; but I know we had some wonderful times at Mt. Madonna, too, so that is my plan as soon as I receive the permit. Hugs.
Yes, I need more space! Gene & I are doing well. Mike, also, is good. Unfortunately, Claudia has advanced Alzheimer's and really is suffering with it. Mike and Gene and I are her "team" and do what we can for her, as Linda died two years ago and there is no one else. Debbie suffered a 2nd bout of cancer alone (COVID happened) right after Al died but is doing okay. Life does go on. Love...
