Few humans will encounter the daunting medical issues faced by Marc. By conquering leukemia and the serious aftereffects of bone marrow transplant, Marc became my health champion. His grace and durability bought him 15 added years. He used them well, demonstrating extraordinary productivity as he helped platoons of humans improve their careers. My son, my hero. A goodbye note: Marc, My sweet friend, I miss you very much! You beat to your own drum, witty, silly and kind. I so enjoyed your sarcasm and our many talks about childhood, politics, art and real estate. We toured at least 30 homes together,& critiqued each one mercilessly on the drive home..lol. I miss you! You were authentic, a beautiful person and my professional muse. Lots of Love Jenn

Marc and I have been friends for about twenty years, we had always gotten along and I really looked up to Marc since we were in similar fields but he was about a decade older. I can’t count the amount of times I asked him for advice and he always had time to delve in depth on complex matters, as well as life situations, he was a great friend and was the best man at my wedding. About a decade ago, calamity hit my life pretty hard, I had some serious problems to find solutions for, and one of the people who got me through it was Marc, he not only helped me think through the steps needed, but I believe he recognized that we’d both do well to be around each other more since he had moved away, so he offered me a job, allowing us to spend time on projects and go out and about in Santa Cruz, we’d go over his nostalgia and discuss not just the work projects we had but the projects in our lives and how we’d achieve happiness and moving forward. In hindsight this led to major improvements in my life, righting the ship if you will, and in turn I do know that Marc enjoyed the moral support and the mutual brutal honesty approach we both adhere to. I credit Marc with helping save my life, not from death but from capsizing, and I’ll always be grateful. Marc has helped me in how I look at things, to recognize how precious life is, the tools I use to problem solve rather than squander time, how necessary it is to care about others, and to empathize with those suffering.

I love you brother, you’ll be missed, and remembered always!

You were feisty from the very beginning and never let up your entire life! Through good times and bad, through trials and tribulations, you soldiered on. You were stronger than you knew. You will be remembered - your laugh was infectious, your smile radiant and your heart generous. I'm so happy that you had such solid time with Murry and Esther these last few years. You will be missed. xo

Marc and I shared a friendship from the time he first called me as an executive recruiter in 2004 asking me if I was interested in changing jobs and moving to California.  We began as friends chatting and finally meeting up in person once I moved here to California in 2007.  We shared the love of the car industry talking about the latest cars and trends.  As friends and business colleagues we shared much about our lives and we mutually benefited from unconditional cross support as we both had cancer in the past recent years.  Marc even called me the night before his bone marrow transplant in 2006 to talk when I was on a business trip in Texas. I was glad to be there to support him.  Marc's medical issues were challenging to say the least just seeing the amount of prescription meds he had to take every day.

One weekend he opened up to me as it was time to move closer to his parents as he and them would benefit from mutual support telling me “...I want to be closer to my parents as they age and be able to see and help them." .  Marc's latest round of cancer had him realizing he needed to be closer to his parents. He was scared and needed their support.   He would text me the homes he was searching with his realtor near his parent's house and asked me for my opinion on the various homes.

Marc called to check in on me and let me know how he was doing post-surgery...sadly that was the last time we talked.  Marc was a great conversational companion as I walked all over the city during the shutdown due to the pandemic.   I think of him each weekend as I go for my walks now...there is a void now.

Marc will be missed by many of us.

Anniversaries of death are usually somber events. Here on the first anniversary of the passing of our son, Marc, we prefer to bask in the light of his positive life force. In the face of stupendous health adversity, few humans demonstrate his level of strength and courage stretching over many years. Thanks to all who loved him. You were the source of his strength and resolve.

Marc's first cousin Kevin got married last night to Cecile, in a lovely backyard (wow) ceremony that brought together nearly our entire family What a marvelous week of haemish love and oft-repeated condolensces for Marc and his aunt Maria, both of whom have been lost during the pandemic but not by Covid. Life goes on in truth and love.

We watched the calendar with dread as Marc's birthdate drew near. Now it's here. It's so hard to shake off the sense of loss but our photo album helps. We get many reminders of Marc's joy, often on display at a new favorite restaurant.

Tonight we will toast our memories of Marc. HB, kiddo.

Two year anniversary and little has changed. Our grief is quieter but it isn't gone by any stretch. RIP might be appropriate for the deceased but it's not operational for those still alive. We love you, son. Our memory remains strong.

Four years on and we acknowledge daily revival of memories of our son, Marc. Perhaps this is true for others, too. Once the grief settles, the memories, verbal and silent, do not stop. Marc, you are on our minds literally every day. We reminisce, flesh out memories, and they become vignettes of your life. Every day!
