My heart, prayers and sincere sympathies go out to Family and loved ones of "Mama Lucille." I was privileged to work with her at a group home for adolescents. She lovingly prepared many great meals for the youth and staff. She was so much more than a cook. She commanded respect and was a terrific role model for the kids. She was the perfect combination of love and tough love.
Like the above writer, my prayers and heart's love go out to Mrs. Parham's family, friends and church community. I also knew her as "Mama Lucille" when she worked at Stepping Stone Group Home. To say that she was the Home's cook is perhaps not to realize her fierce, loving influence on the residents and staff. She literally saved lives and souls, teaching us all to be more truly human.
