This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Lucille B. Hogan, 89, born on May 21st, 1927 and passed away on January 11th, 2017.

Lucille Rose Cecile Bartoszek Hogan was the fourth of six children born to Sydney Bartoszek and Sophie Wegenka in South Bend, Indiana. She left us peacefully in Scotts Valley, California after spending most of her life in Los Gatos, California.
Lucille married Cornelius Joseph (Connie) Hogan in South Bend in 1952. They moved to Southern California and had four children: Cornelius Joseph (Neil), Kathleen Sophia, Anne Loretta and Janet Leona. Lucille was a wonderful mother who kept the family together and raised the children on her own after Connie passed away. In 1964, Lucille and the children moved to Los Gatos to be close to her sister Loretta Catalano and family.

Lucille was an astute business woman who developed a successful career as a real estate broker.  She had a passionate appreciation for art, music, fashion and dance. Lucille spent her early years performing and teaching ballet in Cleveland and Chicago.  She was active in the Los Gatos Arts Commission, the Historical Museum, the San Jose Dance Theater and numerous other local commissions and boards dedicated to the arts. In her later years she curated exhibits of resident artists at Brookdale Senior Living in Scotts Valley.

Lucille is survived by her son Neil and his wife Nani Kalahele, daughter Anne and her husband Kurt Edwards, grandchildren Cornelius (Coree), Rebecca, Elizabeth, Ali, and Zephyr. Many relatives survive her in South Bend including her siblings Patricia Zurat and John Bartoszek. She was predeceased by her husband Connie in 1960, and her daughters Kathleen in 1985 and Janet in 2006.

Family and friends are invited to attend services on Friday, January 27 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Los Gatos, 10:00 am viewing and rosary, 11:00 mass with reception immediately following.

Lucille had a wonderful life and was loved by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed. We are so grateful and blessed to have known her bright spirit.
