A tribute to Lisa TJ Moody

I met Lisa in 1998. She, and her three young daughters came into the pet supply store where I worked to buy some tropical fish for their aquarium. On a follow-up visit to the store by herself, Lisa and I talked at length, and developed quite a rapport. That was the beginning of our relationship, which lasted about a year and a half, although it seemed much longer than that in retrospect. Time didn't seem to move as quickly then as it does now.

During my time with Lisa, I observed how passionately she loved her three daughters, and wanted what was best for them. I was enthralled with Lisa's stories about her role in the Milstar Satellite program during her career at Lockheed Martin, culminating in Lisa's attending the satellite's launch. She was very proud of her career, and she had accomplished a lot to be proud of.

Lisa was a strong, brilliant, caring and loving person. She had a unique and powerful presence. She carried herself with a style and grace which I had never seen before, and she was beautiful, inside and out.

Though we had not seen each other in almost 20 years, like many old friends and lovers do, we reconnected with each other on Facebook, and had several long conversations via Instant Messenger. The last time we communicated was in July of 2017. It didn't seem like it was that long ago.

I had been thinking about Lisa these last few days, and of touching base with her, as it had been a while since we chatted. Then I saw the post today about Lisa's sudden passing last month. I am profoundly and deeply saddened to have read this news.

It was a privilege to have known Lisa, and to have been part of her life for a time.

I wish the blessings of happiness, health and joy to Lisa's daughters, grandchildren, and family. Her memory and spirit live on in all that knew and loved her.
