Welcome to Len Jackel's memorial website. Please feel free to add your memories, stories, or anything else you feel is appropriate. Thank you.
His generous heart and warm attentions to me and my children for all of these years have been priceless. Life will not be the same without him
It was a privilege to be able to love and be loved by him. He loved showing me the world
and including me in his adventurous dreams.
Lenny was truly one of the great people and most unusual character of my life. I enjoyed all the time spent with him and it was often an adventure - dealing with our dogs; going to Jet games with his mostly unusual food accompyment (personally beer would have been better). He was a fantastic human and he an amazing and supportive mentor to me. I truly loved him.
Len Jackel was one of the best people I’ve ever known. He introduced me to the Jets (it’s ok...I don’t hold it against him). He took me to Dim Sum every time I visited the Bay Area. He was an indelible influence on my dad and the rest of my family. He was a true mensch. Len passed away yesterday at 96 years old. Everyone who knew him would agree that he lived life the right way. Here’s to you Len. I’ll miss you. Rest In Peace. ??????
Lenny was one of the sweetest, most interesting people I’ve ever met. His story of skipping school to see a Frank Sinatra concert compelled me to like him from the moment we met. He had a knack for making everyone feel accepted & included in conversations, regardless of what setting he was in. I’ll miss him singing with me in the car. Anything other than Frank Sinatra was a “racket”. :-D
My relationship with Lenny was when we served on the Cabrillo Fest “Scullery Crew” together (multiple photos included here—thx Patricia). I was the “Captain,” but it was clear who was really in charge! What a lovable character—unique as the day was long—& the best fruit salad maker ever! RIP Lenny!
