"If seeds in the black earth can turn into such beautiful roses, what might not the heart of a beautiful soul become in its long journey toward the stars?" G.K. Chesterton- We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a talented and lovely young woman. May god hold her in his palm and close to his heart. Rest in peace dear Lauren. -Okeefe Family Leo, Ellen, Abby & Emme
Lauren was a kind, funny, warm and vibrant girl. Throughout our childhood there were countless bike rides, sleepovers, and snowball fights. Her positive energy and everlasting curiosity created the most special memories for us. I will forever cherish the time we shared and remember her as the wonderful person she was. She will be deeply missed by so many, myself included.
Lauren was a light in so many people's lives. Hilarious, genuine, a true friend. I will fondly remember late night drives around Westwood, hikes, concerts, and adventures no one else could've convinced me to undertake (I still don't know how she got me to run a midnight 5K where onlookers threw glow-in-dark paint at us). I will remember and love her forever. <3
Lauren was like no other. She was the kind of friend you would dream about having--supportive, open, kind, and accepting. I have never encountered anyone who could make you feel so seen—so validated—the way she could. You could just be blissfully yourself, and that was good enough for her. She made everyone's lives more colorful, more beautiful, and brighter than words can say.
