I became interested in violin making and visited Lance, who took the time to answer my questions and volunteer his expertise.  He liked what I made and offered an apprenticeship, but alas the timing wasn't good.  I moved away and fell out of touch, and just saw his obit.  Thanks Lance!  I'm still at it!  - Dave
