Mr Cahill was quite simply - one of kind. I knew from the first time I met him through Ashley that he was a very special man. I was really envious of Ashley actually at the time, to have such an engaging, kind, warm type of daddy (my daddy had a different style). He seemed really interested to know me and I really felt seen and understood and welcome in his presence, soothing. Miss him!
I cannot even begin to describe how much this man meant to me. There were times growing up where I felt like I did not have someone on my team, and as soon as that would creep up on me he would sweep in to dispel any loneliness I was feeling. He never let me or anyone else for that matter feel unimportant or alone in anyway. If something needed to be done he was the first in line to help.
We love and miss you so much Papa! It’s easier to think that you are just in Hayward at home, because the thought of you not being present with us in this realm is too hard to perceive. If someone were to be worthy of living forever it would have been you. But I know and find comfort in the idea that you are at absolute peace and enjoying all of the amazing joys the afterlife has to offer.
“ The Biggest character I ever worked with at ACT, always had a prank or two, actually more than that.
Great memories when we all had our Jeep camping trips. Miss ya brother.”
- Steven Montoya
“He is missed by all of his AC Transit buddy’s!!!”

Mr. Cahill, that's what we called him. He was like a father to me growing up. I will never forget his kidness and his humor. He was always there for us. One of my favorite memories was when he would drive us kids to 5 am swim practice. We would play "pale green light" game. God bless.
