I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Dowd was easily the best teacher that I have ever had (that includes high school, college, post graduate and law school). He prepared us for life and the real world and I will forever be grateful to him for that.
Mr. Dowd was, hands down, the best teacher I ever had. He taught me that hard work always paid off and excuses get you nowhere. After becoming a teacher myself, I was a sub in his class and made sure to tell his current students that they would one day look back and cherish the days they spent in his classroom. Rest In Peace knowing that we all were made better people by your example.
Mr. Dowd, you were a very unforgettable teacher. Your lessons could be tough sometimes but you made them last a lifetime. You were a one of a kind person and you were a huge influence at GD during the years I spent there. I’ll never forget the slideshow you made for our graduation. I believe our’s was the first class to experience what became a grand tradition. Rest In Peace and thank you.
Am so glad to known Kevin, from grammar school @ St. Mary’s. RIP my friend.
Being a part of the GD community, I’ve always known how lucky my sister and I were. Remembering exactly what it was like to be a 13yr old in Mr. Dowd’s social studies class, that’s what a good teacher is! You were tough, always fair, and I’m sure I didn’t make it easy. I can recite the preamble of the Constitution, and know the Bill of Rights all because of what you taught us! Thank you!
