Kay was the first person I befriended when I arrived in the United States on January 6, 1960. She welcomed me enthusiastically and offered me advice in transitioning from the Philippines to Oakland California. Our first apartment at 2554 East 16th Street was managed by Kay and Lee. They had a beautiful baby named Steve, I was proud to be his first baby sitter. I will miss Kay;
