She will forever be ‘Miss Johnson’ and I can’t ever say enough about what a kind and thoughtful educator she was. Anyone who can teach a grubby bunch of 4 graders to love all genres of music is a gift to the world. XO
Kathleen Johnson was my violin teacher back in the 70's, and then my daughter Marilyn's cello teacher and mentor in the 90's through 2000's, and also coached my daughter Kendall on cello. She was a big part of our lives, and we are so sad to learn of this. We all know she is playing her cello in a heavenly choir with the best of them now. God bless her, we loved her so much!
Kathleen was my daughter's cello teacher for the past 3 years. My daughter is 10 years old, and loved and respected Kathleen so much. Kathleen taught her with such diligence, intuition, and care. She was the type of teacher who truly gave her best to teaching a student - a true gem. Our family is heartbroken to have lost her, but will always be grateful to have had her in our lives.
Kathleen was a remarkable teacher colleague, talented and astute fellow musician and long-time valued friend. She was someone who did her job very well and quietly. Her keen sense of humor. her humble demeanor, her genuine interest and concern drew her friends close to her. To play music with her created some of the most satisfying and memorable moments in my life. As her friend, the talks and walks we had along life's path are a true blessing. I wish we had more time together.

Any loss of a true musician is a great loss for us all. Let us all remember her for what she has contributed in our musical world. With her music and art, she has brought true beauty in people's lives, and from what I've read, found essence of the human soul through her music, art, and friendships.
