Dear Jim & girls. Karen is my second cousin. Her mom, Mary, was my first cousin. My memories of Karen are mostly when we were children. When I think of her in my minds eye I see a beautiful girl inside and out. Her eyes would warm you and her smile would melt you. She was very special
I am sorry for your loss! Karen was such a bright, guiding and formative light in my young nursing career. Her boundless knowledge, huge heart and endless (ENDLESS:)) energy set a high bar for what to strive to be like. She touched hundreds of lives, mine included. My heart aches alongside yours- I am sorry for such a deep loss! With love and great admiration- Loredana
The brightest of lights has moved on to heaven. As one of her long time SICU colleagues, I can say she was an inspiration to us all. Her dedication and love of her work showed in everything she did. Her compassion knew no bounds. So an Angel she has become. I expect if asked what are you doing in heaven? Her response would be “Fiddling and diddling.” Karen speak for getting things done.
I have no words to describe what a loss Karen’s passing is for all of us. It is rare to meet someone with such love, empathy, and energy for life. She undoubtedly left the world a better place than she found it. I consider myself lucky to have known her.
Dear Jessica,
The love of a mother is unique and eternal.
I hope she will always be with you and your family in your memories, photos/videos, and in your heart.
With deepest sympathy, R. Miller-Comm. of MA-OSD
To the Griffin family my condolences. Karen was one of kindest, nicest, gentlest people that I know! (Jessica I'm the voice that you'd hear when you called the SICU.) Jack MacDonald-Hilton
