Mr. Sheehan was my teacher at Frick Junior High in the late 60's. He was always one of my favorites. His ability to make larning fun was so natural for him. Several years later, he was my daughter's teacher at Bret Harte and what a thrill to know my daughter was in good hands. We will forever remember the African Mask and Castle projects. He will be missed by so many.
A true “teacher”. Jack was a friend, mentor and a true educator. I had the honor of teaching with him for many years at Frick Junior High School. I can still see him in his classroom 201 at Frick.
He was truly admired and loved by his students and fellow educators.
He’s somewhere in the universe still teaching ??
Mr. Sheehan came to mind and I spoke of him fondly today here in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Sheehan had been a teacher of mine, and I'll quite possibly never forget him. I had been a student of his at Bret Harte. He made an indelible impression on me, and I am in part the woman I am today because I was taught and led by him.
My deepest, heartfelt condolences to his family and friends
Jack managed SLHS pool in the late 50's. I was just learning to swim. I remember his flawless freestyle form and him holding his breath for minutes at a time as he swam back and forth on the pool bottom. All of us kids were in awe of him. He was a role model and we looked up to him. Rest In Peace Jack.
