This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Jon Van Valkenburg. We will remember him forever.
Dr. Van pulled me through some pretty rough times. He was so caring, so professional, and attentive. We would have a conversation of my treatment, I would ask "would you tell you mother that" More times than not he would say he would. We agreed that I could have two diet Cokes a day and he could have two coffees. I loved him dearly. I feel lost. At this time in my life I need him more.
When my family and I first established with Dr.Van a few short years ago, I was very distrusting as It seemed no one would listen. He was different. He cared, I wasn’t a number or a dolllar sign, judged or discredited. We would chat about family briefly (as he was so busy), but he ALWAYS remembered & he always cared. He had a friendly welcoming smile that will be dearly missed.
I first met Dr. Van when I moved to Phoenix 4 years ago. I called for an appointment with a certain doctor. When I arrived they told me I would see Dr. Van. I almost refused but decided to give him a chance. When he walked into the room, it was like I had known him forever. He was a great doctor and I felt like he was a friend. He will be dearly missed.
Dr. Van was THE best doctor I ever had. He is an angel now watching over us as he always did. Oh my he is so missed and was loved.

Sending prayers of comfort to Nick (Jon’s son) and the entire family. I have coached Nick in football and have gotten to know him as a person over the years. Dr. Van Valkenburg raised a wonderful young man. Doctor, thanks for all your service in helping others. You will be missed.
