I met John Theye while working at Browns Lake Resort in Burlington WI 1972.  He visited me in Eau Claire and I visited him in Minneapolis.  I moved to Fresno, CA, and I visited him in the Bay Area and the last time I saw John was in Fresno in the late 1970s when he stopped by my house with a car load of other young men coming to Fresno for a Chess Tournament.  I really enjoyed John,

His wit and humor were outstanding.  He was fun-loving and adventurious.  I loved his stories of growing up in Ft Wayne.  I was sorry to hear of his death.  I have a collection of pictures of John from the period I interacted with him.  If you want, send me your email address.  Mine is kenmmay@gmail.com
