Sam (as I called him since High School) was a dear and faithful friend.  Because we have the same last name (Wagner, but not related), we were often together whenever alphabetical order was the rule.  We graduated from H.S. together, joined the Marines together, trained at Parris Island together, shared many experiences together, and remained close throughout our lives.  He was always a faithful, humble, fun-to-be-around friend.  I, too, have a number of his painting and pen and ink drawings in my home.  One of my favorites (and his) is of Jesus walking on the sea and reaching out to save Peter, who was sinking and cried out to be saved.  Sam often said, “That’s my story too.”  His faith in Christ was never doubted throughout the years.  That’s why I know I will see my old friend again.  I wonder if he is reading this now??  May these thoughts bring comfort to his grieving family.  God bless you all.

Writing for my father, Bill White. It is with much sadness that I learned of Sammy's passing. What a friend! Thankful for the many years of friendship & for the many fond memories of growing up together. I also have a couple of Sammy's paintings & my most favorite is of Jesus ~ a constant reminder of His faithfulness to each of us & the gift of friends. May God comfort each you. Bill White
